^^^That is where mine came from.

Whether they offer the 9th gen boots already or not, I don't know. But If you contact them I'm sure they could make you one.

They should since they have templates for the 9thgens.

Yep. I just ordered a boot from them about a week and a half ago, still waiting for it to come in but redline goods can definitely make it for you.

We're always curious to see what kinds of Shift Knobs people are rocking in their interiors; so don't be shy and post up a picture of YOUR shift knob!

After some research we've noted that our best seller for the 9th Gen Civic is the M1 Abrams in Gunmetal Finish.

POST THEM UP!

I was just in contact with Franki at TWM regarding their retainer, for use with the M1 knob and she said the shift boot must be zip-tied to their retainer. What does that mean? I would have no idea how to do that. My 2012 Si shift boot has some solid structure within and the opening is greater than the diameter of the shift rod. I'm so confused. Help please?

WhiteWillie The retainer ring is 2 pieces:

Retainer ring assembled:

Ring with rertainer bolt (black paint removed from ribbed area):

Mock up with a knob:

OEM shifter boot.

See how high the snout is? That's because it is folded down over piece 1 of the retainer and then the two are put together. With aftermarket rings like you are considering, like this one,

there is a groove at the bottom. That's where you would zip tie the boot, leaving the zip tie loose enough to spin the bolt around as you tightened the knob against the bolt, by hand. It's sort of an inside out operation with the boot and zip tie. You would do the zip tie with the boot assembly out of the car of course. I did not do a ziptie on my application above because the boot I used (8th gen) has too small a hole at the top. Mine is held up by a grommet, but I love it.

I hope this is helpful.

Thanks Johnny. So, I would have to remove the boot from the car and then the zip tie is attached to the inside of the boot and connects the boot to the retainer hardware?

To get the boot out of the car is it just a matter of prying up the shiny plastic frame around the boot?

Thanks again Johnny, for all the trouble you went to to help me. BTW, you boot and knob are the nicest I've ever seen. No wonder your known as Hotdogjohnny.

Hey thanks for the compliment! You can't just pry on the shiny part. The boot comes out with all of this . . . the whole center piece. The shiny surround part screws into the base, so you can't just pry on it. Looks like this from underneath: see thumbnail below.

Also, look at Squiggy's great DIY on short shifter for details. And yes, you are right that the zip tie is attached to the boot while inside out. Hard to explain and I never used the method, or I'd have pictures for you. You are planningto use a replacement boot, right?

If I can help let me know.

I'm looking to get a new knob...I want something that won't get so hot.
I see powder coated knobs like flossy and moddiction but idk if I want to go that route.
Any ideas?

Go with a knob made out of delrin. I've ordered two different knobs (one off the shelf and one custom) from this guy, and he's awesome to deal with.
