Mr. Beer: Classic American Light
-Fermentation Process: 3 weeks
-Bottling: 1 week 2 days
-Refrigeration: 1 hr in freezer
So this is my very first DIY beer using the Mr. Beer kit. Overall, I'm very surprised how easy it was making this beer. It just takes a very long time (around 5 weeks).
More about this beer. The American Light Classic is definitely better than any generic light beers you can find on the shelves. This one, however, does lack some flavor. I think if I added 75% of water that the instructions asked for, it would just seal the deal. The right flavors would have been there. Besides the lack of flavor, this beer is very much like a champagne. It is bubbly and has a sour taste. Plus a soothing smell. It also leaves a pretty sour after taste. This beer reminds me of Duvel for some reason even though Duvel is one of the priciest beers you can get. Maybe I screwed it up? But I like it.
Their availables. Getting a little too crafty. Sometimes you just want a good, solid beer, not a berry Berliner, Jalapeño saison or double IPA. Oh well...The Schwarzbier wasn't bad.
I have been almost exclusively drinking this lately. It's a wonderful Belgian sour. I think it's perfect when it's hot and muggy out. Drink it just slightly below room temp. In the fridge for 20min and thats it.
I just got the last 750 the store had. It's $18 but so worth it. The cashier seemed annoyed, almost like they were going to buy it when they got done with their shift but i snagged it first.
Probably not as good as what you have. I would say that it is a pretty weak beer from Victory. By weak, I mean Victory barely tried in making this brew.
