Going to 4300ish is supposed to have the most output.

Results like this are going to vary from brand to brand, but this at least shows someone testing the lux output of 35 w on a bunch of bulbs and 55 w lux as well. It could give you at least a general idea, granted it looks like he’s just overpowering 35w bulbs in this on 55w ballasts.

Looks like the 55 watt ballast is the way to go if I want to significantly increase brightness.

I took off my front bumper cover to get at the headlights and discovered that the brackets that hold the headlights in place are completely rusted through. One basically disintegrated while trying to take it off.

Anyone else have/seen this problem???

Holy smokes man. That’s crazy. I mean I realize you’re in the thick of the snow and salt zone, but still. I’ve never seen one like that, and I’ve done repairs to 2006+ civics that didn’t look like that in snow/salt areas. If you get a replacement, it probably wouldn’t hurt to give it an extra coat of some form of paint to make sure it’s sealed well.
