Hub centric rings arrived. They were supposed to be metal, like the ones I got from Discount Tire Direct a few years ago with some other wheels. These are plastic. However, they are Gorilla brand so I trust them a lot more than some random brand. They also have an interesting design to them with what looks like grooves for cooling. Not to mention they were pretty cheap ($15 shipped). So, i'll save myself the hassle and keep them despite the misinformation from the Discount Tire phone rep.

Also, I removed my pinstripes. Used a hair dryer and my fingernail to peel them off (took about 15 minutes each side). Then I used Goo-Gone on a microfiber towel to remove the residue. Afterwards I used Meguiar's Ultimate detailer and a microfiber towel to clean up the Goo-gone residue, and finally the Meguiar's NXT 2.0 paint sealant and a microfiber buffer bonnet on the orbital buffer. Last, I ran it through a touch less car wash with just rinse, soak, rinse, and spot free rinse. Whole thing minus the car wash took around an hour or so.

I had a set of those hub rings. They work very well unless a piece comes out of those areas with the notches. It allows them to deform a little bit for better fitment if the tolerances are off a little on the wheel or the hub. Just keep an eye on them if you swap wheels back and forth.

Good to know. Thanks. I don't plan to swap them since I don't have snow ever and I don't take it to the track or anything.

Installed the H&R OE Sport springs. I'm very happy with the drop, now there's a 2 finger gap in front and 2 1/2 finger gap in the rear. It seems like the height it should have came from factory. It also handles much smoother now and tons less body roll. I had the regular sport springs on my del sol so I was worried this wouldn't be low enough but it's great.

So the part numbers on the springs were different from on the box. The part numbers on the springs were for an 8th gen non-Si sedan, while the ones on the box were for Si. Fitment is the same of course but thinking about it I bet the spring rates are identical between the two part numbers. The sport springs have separate sets and rates but these are such a mild drop that I bet it's the same between the two.

My front springs logos and info were printed upside down and I had to install L on passenger side and R on driver side because of the rotation directions of the springs. But I think regardless of what was printed this was the intended configuration because it works and fits perfect the way I did it. I googled and saw on 8thcivic that someone else with the same springs got them printed upside down as well. So that makes me feel better about it.

It hella rained so better pics some other time.

Please read and give me your opinion/share your experience.

I get a medium-loudness clunk noise over speed bumps and sometimes around sharp corners driving slow in places like an apartment complex parking lot. It is coming from the rear.

I raised the car and checked all bolts I touched and they are tight. I tightened a couple a little more but they should have been fine as tight as they already were. There was no play in any parts in the rear suspension. I even checked the sway bar.

I am thinking I am hearing the coils of the springs touch each other. I took some pictures of the passenger-side rear spring with no load (car raised) and a picture with resting load on the spring (car on ground). Has anyone experienced this problem before?

Also, here's a better picture of the drop I got from these springs. Love it.

Also, the part number on the box 51868-55 is for all 8th gen sedans and the springs in the box are 51867-55, for 8th gen coupe. I am guessing H&R didn't make two different versions of the springs. But why did they give them different part numbers? I'm going to contact H&R about that.

EDIT: Some googling found me this thread on 8thcivic where someone received the same springs as me with part numbers that didn't match the box, and they said that they called H&R and they told him it was correct. The difference between the chassis is only like 50 lbs. so like I said I wouldn't understand why they'd create two sets anyway. Just weird that they used different part numbers on the box but not on the springs… maybe they wanted to track which chassis people were buying them for so they used an arbitrary extra part number to distinguish sales between the two.

But regardless, what do you guys think about the noise I've encountered?

Hmm the noise stopped after tightening the bolts even more. Even though they weren't actually loose and there was no play.

I am now a very happy camper! It's solid, the alignment still feels great (although I will take it in soon once the springs completely settle), and it handles great.

Trunk tray delivered and installed. I'm kind of disappointed. It looks nice and all but the edges are all ripply (hopefully just temporary from packing) and the rubber/plastic is very thin and flimsy and the fitment is just a little too small for the trunk it seems. For $75 shipped (which is $45 less than my dealer's price) I was expecting something pretty rugged. I feel a little ripped off.

I kind of felt the same way when I got mine. I was expecting about 4-5 times thicker material. The ripplyness doesn't really go away. I actually took some velcro to the end towards the rear of the car to affix it so it would stay/in place.

However, the ease of cleaning is still worth it!

At least it looks good I guess, right?

It does make a difference in appearance that is more aesthetically pleasing.

If you do not plan on putting a cargo net in, you could post it up here for sale and get a higher quality one from Lloyds or Husky or WeatherTech if they make them.

I think I will just keep it. I'll see how it holds up
