2012 Civic MPG - share your current gas mileage

welcome to 9th..

current tire pressure? What speed do you normally drive those 80 miles.. cruise control at all?

as for the elantra - if you haven't heard, they're under investigation for mileage claims. A large number of users have filed complaints, and it's being investigated by the goverment to get Hyundai to lower the mpg rating.

finally filled up first tank got 30 mpg should get better right oh I got a 4door ex sedan 50city 50 hwy

I had a 2005 Hyundai Tuscon 2.7 V6-4wd, only got around 11 mpg in the winter where city mileage was rated at 19. That's 73% worse!
I was pissed off big time, my 5.7 Hemi 4x4 Dodge Ram got around 14-15 mpg in the city!

For comparison my 2012 Honda Odyssey EX is currently averaging 15 l /100km or 15.7 mpg, where the rating is 11.7 l /100km or 20 mpg. That's 28% worse.
So, in my experience, Honda's fuel ratings are much closer to real world than Hyundai, hand's down.

FYI, my Civic EX 5 speed is averaging 27.7 mpg (8.5 l/100km) in all winter city driving with winter tires fitted.
Lots of slush getting in the wheel wells and on the rocker panels where I live and the snow is starting to pile up!

Winter additives are also present in gas currently which hinder mpg

im getting about 33.0 and thats basically 75% highway, I drive 112 miles RT to work ...average 1.25 tanks a week =) where as my Tahoe was 11MPG and I was getting slammed with the gas it cost to commute!!

Pretty good on my trip to/from gfxp, 120 miles each way.

have you done the calculation at the pump to see differences?

I have a 2012 civic ex-navi sedan. Freeway + city gets me 29 to 29.5 mpg. Driving from san Fran to LOs Angeles gave me 37.7 mpg. Coming back gave me 36.6(some traffic). To me, city gets very bad mileage on this car.

Also, about the Econ button, I feel like it doesn't help much. I tried the same commute with Econ on with a full gas tank and a tank with it off. It was only off by 1mpg. With Econ on, the car runs sluggish.

Almost 40mpg without having a hybrid is pretty damn good.

This was driving on my way home in the Si from work, mostly highway, 40 miles averaging 70mph.
