what do you guys think the pool guy we gave $35k to in April who said he would be able to install it by the summer then ignored our calls, txt and emails would say if we cancelled it and asked for our money back? to be fair, it was delayed due to material shortage from the manufacture of the pool, but he did continually promise it would be delivered multiple times. guy called us as we were driving to Tofino BC.

Yeah... I don't get the giving $35k up front.

Do people always give that much up front for inground pools?

$35 was half the bill. if we paid half up front he discounted 5k off the entire price or something like that. all the money also went into the production of the pool. he gives a discount because he doesnt have to cover any costs on the pool out of pocket.
so all in all the pool, salt water converter, heater and 3 foot coping costs $70k. the joys of fiberglass pools.
