Sweet! But it'll cost you about 5 - 10 MPG when you're having some fun...Well I just got my 13 Si sedan but I got 34.6 mpg

huwaat the best ive done so far is 29.2 hahaha im slowly inching to 30 mpg, its so tempting to pull hard rawrrrr 1300 miles now on my 13We have been averaging about 31-33 with AC on, but not on max AC and staying out of vtec. 27.8 on the first tank with AC on max and hitting vtec is not that bad either! Max AC just throws on recirc so don't deny yourself! We have been averaging about 31-33 with AC on, but not on max AC and staying out of vtec. 27.8 on the first tank with AC on max and hitting vtec is not that bad either! View attachment 17352
That sounds like me very soon!!City life + hitting vtec occasionally and I'm getting 24-25 mpg
Question, If I have my air' running and it's already set on recycle, then I hit the Max button....... what changes??????????? Really, more technical info ???? ThxMax AC just throws on recirc so don't deny yourself!
Looks like selecting Max just selects dash vent and recirc automatically for you.
Yes,that's it. Once the car cools down, select MAX AC and the recirc seems to keep the interior quite a bit cooler than regular AC. That's what I found last summer with the car.
Maybe it's just me, but I find the Si shifts differently with the AC on. I seem to have to rev it higher than I normally do to get a smooth shift. I'm guessing the higher load on the engine with the compressor engaged.
We notice with max AC on the compressor cycles alot more. Putting more strain on the engine which in our exspirence we have seen the mileage drop faster. That is just us and our Si.. Maybe cause we are in hot AZ it cycles more?
OK... Thx for getting back to me.Nothing-makes no difference to the compressor. It may in fact make the AC work less hard as the air entering the evaporator would possibly be cooler and dryer than the outside air. Running AC on recirc would be the same with the exception that you get to choose which vents the air exits from.
