friend just tried working on wiring today, Like K24 said, the hybrid and nonhybrid covers are a bit diff in size. my friend ran into the same problem but he said he is going to order the necessary parts to fix that issue for around 40 bucks, and he told me it still puts him under half the price of each assembly. More info once he gets the parts and redoing itAny word on how he made out?

The only way I could confirm would be to tear two mirrors apart. Personally I don't trust myself doing that on these mirrors without breaking something. We only have 1 Hybrid in stock and I don't want to take it out of service should a customer or dealer need it.
