Mother Of All Whore Threads Non-VIP Edition v.1

Is it just the way things are built out there? No insulation or something? I don't get it. How cold is it? I've got a hose hooked up to my outside tap still. Lol.

Exactly what Ethlar and Webby have said --

Nothing here is really built with cold weather in mind. It's always been cheaper to just disregard that possibility.

...And boy are we paying for it now!

It snowed some more this morning. Pipes have at least some water coming through right now as of half an hour ago. Boiling it for hot water.

Several of my friends don't have power, and haven't had it for at least 24 hours now. I don't have reliably running water right now.

I am sorry for disregarding everyone's warnings about snow not being actually fun outside of photos. Snow is not fun.

Snow is *not* fun.
Hopefully you guys can keep the water going and retain some power for heat. :bighug:

I just figured all faucets were frost free by now. Also didn't think about the loss of electricity. Sounds like a big mess over there.

yea, they didnt winterize their power plants either, and I'm hearing their deregulated providers also didnt want to pay hiked prices on natural gas so some plants may have just not had supply and shut down.

friend sent me these pictures from a thermal plant in southeast texas

interesting to see it's actually lighter than the s2k engine. It'll be cool to see it installed and tuned.

I heard they were asking people to stop leaving the faucets on drip to preserve water pressure now. Crazy.
72 degrees here today. Might bust out a tank top.
How bout u @fahnix ?
Hell yeah! And today is one of the most relaxing days I've had in months. No cases rolling in. No users being needy. Only a couple meetings on the calendar. Just came back from a 30 min stroll just to enjoy the sun!

We're still without water but power seems to be back and steady now

Texas Governor is opening up an investigation on Oncor and other electric providers to see why this **** show took place like it did

Sdge pays off our investigators I’m willing to bet those companies out there will do the same. And the governor too. Gotta pay for them Cancun strippers.
