Tagged @Dad and @Honda-Fan in another thread but they don't have access to. How did you fair with the storms yesterday? Read quite a few of tornadoes broke out down there.
Payment would most likely be more than I pay for the si. I don't have enough equity in the si to bring the GTI down enough plus interest rates are higher. After a quick search and CND conversion.....seems like that price is cheaper than anything I can find within 500miles of me regardless of trim. I guess it would depend on how much the monthly payment is and for how long you want to finance it.
Pros....you have a practically a new vehicle, hatch, lots of new tech(potentially) compared to your Si.
1 car to deal with....no storing a car in winter. Only one car to insure, maint(which should be less)
more potential for modding it
Cons...having a monthly car note for longer and possibly for more than you pay now?
I don't know. My dad's 23 GTI feels possibly as fast or slightly slower than my modified si. Modified GTI would obviously be faster than the si though.but would it make you smile more?
Hi guys and girls crazy to see some ogs still on here.

FAR more Pros than Cons. The GTI is superior in almost every way. Valve maintenance comes with any DI Engine nowadays. Nothing major. The only thing to be cautious of with a 6spd is finding a clutch that can handle the insane torque put out by the EA888. Some stock clutches can’t handle the factory tune let alone some OTS Stage 1 Map.I don't know. My dad's 23 GTI feels possibly as fast or slightly slower than my modified si. I hate the GTI engine issues like having to walnut blast the valves as maintenance.
So many pros and cons. The main con is having car payments.
I think the biggest con is the car payment thing. I know the GTI is a superior car. No question about that.FAR more Pros than Cons. The GTI is superior in almost every way. Yeah, but add the same mods to the GTI and the VW is now faster.I think the biggest con is the car payment thing. I know the GTI is a superior car. No question about that.
Having a turbo car would be much easier to modify. My si is currently faster than my dad's stock 23 GTI though.
Hey! How are you doing?!? Still have your civic?Hi guys and girls crazy to see some ogs still on here.
I'm doing good, thanks. I totaled the last one on ice. I have fg4 now. How you been?Hey! How are you doing?!? Still have your civic?
Damn! 3' yikes just didn't realize the area has that much water or flash flood?I ran my civic into 3 feet of water. VSA stalled my engine. I made the mistake of turning it over under water. Only one quick time I knew I wasn't going to start. Next day I drained half water half oil. I pulled the plugs out blew water out of the heads. I put regular oil and some marvel mystery oil with it. I kept the plugs out for awhile and just turned it over like 50 times. Put the plugs back in and ran it for about 2 miles. I drained that out and it was like chocolate milk. Then I put synthetic back in and the car is running good now. I only been about 200 miles since this happened but car is running fine no smoke either. Only thing I worry about now is water got into the transmission.
