ultimate racing downpipe

well, Downpipe's now available... FOR $399!! And that's w/ no Cat... That's REALLY expensive.. BUT they promise 20 whp from this mod.. I'm just curious with no cat if it will throw a code...

Damnit I want to buy it right now but I will hate myself for doing this.. after shipping it's probably close to 500 bucks.... Debating...:coffee::hmmm?::love1:

They say it does bolt to the stock exhaust or the Ultimate-Racing which I have.. But the defouler i'm not sure.. doesn't look like it.. That means it will definitely throw some type of code..

this looks to be it. simple bung..

the secondary 02 sensor needs a defouler...the secondary 02 is further down the pipe, is there an image of the fulll downpipe, where you can see the second bung?

seems like it wouldn't be able to mate to a 3" exhaust or the stock exhaust without problem
  • 3-inch 304 stainless steel piping
  • 3/8" thick flanges
  • Cast stainless steel high flow bellmouth design
  • High quality stainless steel braided flex section with interlock liner
  • Available Catless, or with your choice of High Flow Catalytic Converters
  • Bung for OEM O2 Sensor as well as additional O2 Bung for aftermarket O2 sensor (Plug Provided)
  • Bolts directly to OEM catback exhaust location

so it doesn't come with the 2nd 02 sensor bung? We would have to drill and tap an additional hole ourselves??

Does anyone have time to call them and ask:

- will this bolt onto the stock catback
- does it include a defouler
- is there a a bung for the oem secondary 02 sensor

I'm at the office and can't handle :(

my comment was - I don't see how it could fit both exhausts without problems.

I bolded the bung part - it has 2.
Bung for OEM O2 Sensor as well as additional O2 Bung for aftermarket O2 sensor (Plug Provided)

yea, but that secondary sensor is at the top of the header....so that's not for a defouler, it's prolly for an a/f gauge.

Ok everyone.. Have a few things to go over:

Just spoke to John from ultimate-Racing. He let me know a few things that are good info:

1) 20+ horsepower was achieved using the High flow cat version of their DP mated to their Full straight through exhaust. That's great news! They will be testing again early next week with the catless DP.

2) The High flow metal cat used in the design is made by Magnaflow.

3) There are 3 ports on the DP: 1st 02 right near the block, 3rd party wideband bung w/ cap & 2nd 02 bung after 2nd cat.

4) They tested the system with their High flow cat and are not throwing codes, however John recommends we purchase a 3rd party defouler for those of us planning to go catless.

5) this DP mates perfectly w/ factory exhaust.

yes, they want quite a bit of money.. But you can't argue with 20 Horsepower... Well worth the money IMO.
