Hondata Releases 2012 Honda Civic Si ECU Reflash!!

Why wouldn't an underbore/longer stroke engine be good for drag racing, but at the same time good for road racing?

I read a decent amount of this thread and did searches but I don't see it mentioned. Is there a Canadian version of this? I just got my SI and the rev hang is decently annoying.

maybe the same solution R18's have been using would work for this, buy an USDM ECU and send it in for reflash see if it can compatibly be swapped out. This is how any R18 besides USDM are using getting Hondata Flashpro to work.

Cam part #
14110-rl5-000
14120-rl5-000
Shows for the 2012 SI, and it shows for the 2012 tsx.

He probably won't be working on SI cams for a while. He's trying to get the k20 production up and running.

well, he was the owner of a k20 forum. K cams (for various k20 blocks) are what he was focused on doing. I think he's only been working on production for maybe a couple months or so now. I'm sure he'd need some test users to try out various cam profiles to see what works best. That would be for someone in the minneapolis area to do. I think he said a new core run would cost him a decent 5 figure sum in blanks alone.

correct for him to run his own cores he needs to do a batch minimum of 100.

I wonder what the difference is between the US and Canadian versions of the '12 Si's are?

Typically tuning and a couple minor exterior/interior details. Tuning because of gas, I believe they have less ethanol in can gas

AKI or RON are international standards. Canada has 89, 91, and 94. The States have 89, 91, and 93. A minor difference, but because the Canadian model has availability of 94, it might be a slightly different tune.

I would think the engine would automatically adjust depending on what grade of fuel is used.
I'm so surprised webby hasn't chimed in on my original question about the difference between Can and US vehicles :turbobananapoke:

Actually just double checked seems only the lower grade 87 contain ethanol in Canada due to some mandate back in 2010. Although it oddly only applied to the lower grade

Don't read this thread if half asleep! You will have horrible dreams about your car not wanting to run for you Plus all these errors

Actually, canada uses e5 (5% ethanol blend).
The USA actually only has 8 or so states that have mandated e10 blends. Florida being one of them. But generally the level of ethanol goes down the higher the grade.
This is because ethanol has a higher natural octane rating than petrol.

The vapor pressure of e5 is more efficient than e0--which is about the same as e10 (which is why it's considered okay to use in most "modern" vehicles).

E15 however has a dramatically lower vapor pressure, and should only be used in post 2000 vehicles or flex-fuel vehicles.
