My new 9th!

Sucks to hear man

Emailed the dealership tonight with pictures. American Honda called tonight with the survey, and they made note of the issue. I know the dealership will be pissed that they didn't get a perfect survey, but as far as I'm concerned, they didn't deserve one. We'll see what they say

RaskyR1 Nix may have advice on the paint.

I shared your info and pics with my buddy who had a long career in the automotive paint and car care industry. You've tried a lot of what I would have done already. Below is his reply...he's referring to the Valugard ABC decon system.

Some times, notice "some times" a double soaking with Product A from the ABC system will pull it out, Takes two applications at least.
If that doesn't do it it's body shop for refinishing from my experience.

Ah nice one Rasky. I was trying to think of what might work. That stuff is awesome but still a maybe. Yeah hey_mikey if you want to try and buy another product.... It's only $20.....

I haven't used it yet to be honest, but have only heard good things. I almost bought it a few years back for some rail dust on a white C6, but now that we have IronX I haven't had a need for it. ;)

I would maybe try some tar remover too....if you have it on hand that is. Otherwise I think it's time to get AH involved.

Yep. IronX is nice. There is a combo product TRIX from CarPro that does Iron and Tar. Really really bad smelling though.

Let us know what works out with the dealership mikey. If they fail you, there's still a few products to try before resorting to paying a body shop to repaint it for you.

Thanks @Rasky I'll definitely pick some up and give that a try.

I'll try some of this as well.

I didn't have any bug and tar remover on hand since I haven't had the need for it, but I did mean to pick some up and try that as well.

Haven't heard back from the dealership yet, but honestly, I'd rather not have to respray the car at all, so if I can fix it without damaging the original paint, that would be my first choice. I know I haven't used up all my options yet, so for now I'll try not to let this spoil our first trip back to Hawaii since we moved to NC.

Enjoy your trip! We'll be here when you get back.

Just landed on Maui. Still nothing from the dealer. I guess that means their official response is IDGAF

That sucks! Take lots of pics on your vacation. I want to see Maui again lol

I've never been in Hawaii. Lol. :hiding:

Hopefully that dealer resolves the issue.

Err...shift knob?

Nomar06 look what came in today! now i just have to find time to install it. i would've had it done tonight, but apparently on these new accords, the front suspension doesn't let the knuckle drop enough to pull it off the damper, so the lower control arm needs to come off. :banghead:

I'm looking forward to the lowered Accord! :woot:

Good stuff! Whatever worked out with the paint?

i didn't wanna repaint it so i didn't pursue it further. from what i read, the spots fade in the sun, and after more polishing, they're barely noticeable. dealer said thanks for letting them know and they'll make note not to do that on light cars in the future. never gonna deal with scott clark again unless it's to have them fix something under the lifetime powertrain warranty
