2012 Civic Coupe EX Build

Went ahead and removed the pieces that I did paint already as well as the plastic that runs along the driver and passenger side. The driver door panel I cleaned up today and I will be painting everything tomorrow and giving it some clear coat to hopefully get rid of the rough feeling on the panels after I hit it with the paint. I am looking into removing the glovebox as well, but the auto stores near me didn't have much paint and I got the last of it so I'm going to hold off on that for now.

Went to the junkyard today, I recently bought a passenger side tail light off EBay to fix a crack I had in mine. Today I picked up a set of OEM tailights for $28 so I had to get them. Great condition. I also picked up a OEM black glovebox with handle for $8 and some change. I picked up a few other parts near the center console area for if in the future I want to swap out my whole dashboard. I'm not opposed to doing any work. I'd be happy to sit at a junkyard all day figuring the whole process out.

Very good deals! I forgot the photo of the tail lights. I am finished painting the interior and honestly sick of it at this point. I painted the silver piece on the automatic shifter and the e brake trim. The passenger door will eventually come off to be clear coated.

I like the looks of these rims and was wondering what you guys thought about them? Any reputable place of finding them at a good price? I know a former member ran them on her old car and I honestly enjoy the look. I would like to pair these with a meaty tire set up. Not sure on the offset or tire size I would need or if these rims come in other sizes. Looking into at the moment. Thanks.

J10 enkei wheels are available from tirerack and they’re a vendor.

If you’re thinking about buying from them, please consider looking here.

I can’t tell from the pic you posted, but I’d imagine those are either 17’s or 18”. So, first you need to decide what size wheel you want.

There is quite a bit of info in the meaty tire thread as well. I don’t know how wide you’re looking to go on the wheel. Basically you can decide how wide of a wheel you want. If you wanted an 8” wide wheel, that equates to 203mm wide. The first number in a tires info is the width in mm if you weren’t aware. That can give you at least a starting point as to width. If you want a 9” wheel, you’re at 229mm wide and so on. Then you’ll want a decent buffer above those sizes in mm if you like a meaty look. If you kind of know what size wheels you want, one of us could tell you a good size tire so it won’t throw off your speedometer as well.

Picked up some Lasfit rear turn signals with CANBUS built in, got ride of the resistors. Also picked up some Auxito blinking break lights and they are actually pretty good and the flash is not too fast.

Ooooh, Nice!

Is the blink for the brake lights slower than say...a turn signal when a bulb is out?
I would say it is maybe just slightly faster than that of the blinker light and it flashes four times. The other ones I had were like a strobe light and felt like an eye sore compared to these. The other ones were like a bulb that was out. I'd recommend these for sure.

Also LASFIT 100% Every single LED on my car is LASFIT except for my headlights and DRL/High Beam which are PIAA's 6k and my blinking brake lights from Auxito.

I have the same lasfits for my rear turn signals. Didnt realize how bright they were, almost enough to blind the driver behind you if you stare at them too long.

Been looking for front led turn signals but worried about glare.

Can't go wrong with Lasfit in the front. They look good. No glare.

Today I finally got my car refinanced. My monthly payments were $282 and I had 21.74% interest and on top of that I had a $3.29 daily interest rate. I was able to get the balance, $5,565 refinanced to two years at 4.19% for $240 monthly. Feels much better.

Goodness that’s a huge savings in interest! You must have improved your credit big time

Excuse me? 21.74% interest? Did I read that correctly?

I was very surprised I got it approved that low. World of difference! My credit score was 560, right now it is sitting at 643 and I'm continuing to pay things down. Just got a loan through the credit union to reconsolidate a military loan I got for $3,100 at 26% and in four year the balance of it is now $5,368 so I got a loan for $4,000 at 10.25% for two yeas. Definitely learned the importance of credit and still straightening things out.

Yeah... plus the $3.29 daily interest. I got the car in 2016 in November for $10,700

From November to now I have paid $283 for 51 months totaling $14,433. I still owe $5,565. They have made roughly $8,868 in interest off of me. More than the care is worth, plus I still have the remaining to go, a 20k investment.

That's awesome that you were able to get it down. My first car loan was at 20.4 %, so I know your pain!

Can anyone tell me which SI rear bumper is compatible with my 2012 Civic Coupe EX? I know I need the SI rear bumper and the diffuser. What years would fit and what would the part numbers be? Thanks for any help on this.

I will be installing the JDM DC5 amber side markers on my car hopefully within the next month, but they have been stuck at the foreign international origin post in Hong Kong. I also picked up an extra OEM headlight from the junkyard and will be planning to work on retrofitting my headlights.
